Day trip from Gdansk to World’s Largest Castle!

Less than an hour away from the city of Gdansk there is a small town called Malbork (German Marienburg). It lies on the banks of slow flowing Nogat River, an eastern arm of the Vistula. The Marienburg (Fortress of Mary) – like many other castles in northern Poland – was built by the Teutonic Knights. Fortress was built in 13th century and was the headquarters of the order for almost 150 years. It is still one of the most magnificent monument of Gothic brick architecture in Europe. Malbork Castle Complex is now a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site. Let’s walk through the medieval complex of corridors and chambers in the Castle!
